Time Out New York Kids Chooses About Face!

Posted by design on Nov 11, 2013 in Learning through Looking, Press Articles, Product Feature

Time Out New York Kids Holiday gift guide 2013: Gifts for preschoolers selected About Face! Thanks Time Out New York!

About Face was created by Saxton Freymann. Saxton collected found objects on the streets of New York, the beach, in the country and wherever else he may have traveled. Once photographed the individual elements come together to create a wide array of funny faces and surprisingly honest facial expressions. eeBoo sales associate Cait captures the flexibility of About Face when she explains why it is her favorite eeBoo product: “About Face is an educational GOLDMINE! By simply using objects arranged to resemble facial features, About Face teaches out-of-the-box visual thinking, encourages the development of facial expression recognition skills, expands vocabulary (name each object with your child), teaches color identification (ask your little one to choose only tiles with red or green objects), and helps a kid express how they feel.”

MAC&Toys Has a eeBoo New Favorite: Obstacles!

Posted by design on Apr 29, 2013 in Learning through Looking, Press Articles, Product Feature

Blogger MAC&Toys has found a new eeBoo favorite: Obstacles! The new review raves about the developmental benefits, and laughs, that it brings. Obstacles provides children with an assortment of Obstacles to overcome during the game, in order to get back to Home. Tool cards are provided, with wide ranging ideas like a Propeller Hat, Puppet, or a Peanut Butter Sandwich. Each child must mentally negotiate which Tool card is best in each scenario. Obstacles encourages problem solving, cooperation, and imagination.

Gmobs-cover

My favorite way to play the game with a small group of kids is to have them each put down a tool on each obstacle and explain how they would use it.  After each of them has finished explaining how they would use their tool, the group has to decide which tool would be most effective for that given card.  It might take time to negotiate and come to a decision but I think it is a tool that will help our kids in so many life situations.  Learning how to negotiate can be a difficult thing to teach kids, especially the ones that I work with.  Doing it in a fun and lighthearted way may be a good non-stressful way to practice the skill before generalizing it to other life situations. – MAC& Toys

…what I love most about this game is that you can never be wrong and that you are required to really think outside of the box.  - MAC&Toys

Model Retailer Magazine Highlights Obstacles & Sidewalk Games

Posted by design on Oct 27, 2011 in Press Articles, Product Feature

Model Retailer Magazine, an industry trade publication that covers craft and hobby trends for retail owners and entrepreneurs,  has joined in the chorus of praise for Obstacles and Sidewalk Games!  Both games are included in the feature story entitled “Play Your Heart Out,” which highlights games meant “to delight and challenge” customers.

eeBoo’s greatest aim is to make games that are both delightful and challenging to children! Obstacles invites children to both have fun by using their imaginations and learn the merits of cooperation, while Sidewalk Games promotes the fun of outdoor, active play while also challenging children to learn about games from other cultures.

Praise for Obstacles in San Diego Family Magazine!

Posted by design on Oct 19, 2011 in Press Articles, Product Feature

This month, Obstacles will be featured in San Diego Family Magazine.

After it was given to a family to try, the game won this rave review, an excerpt of which will be printed in the November issue out today, October 21st:

Pleasant SurprisesWe took it to dinner with us and it was great for the table-very easy to understand the directions and travels well.

What is one thing that other parents should know about this toy? This is an inexpensive game that kept our kids entertained and using their imagination.

What did your child like best about this game? Using his imagination and creativity.

Child’s quote: This game is SO MUCH FUN!

Additional Comments: This game is great for kids of all ages. We highly recommend it! Ryan’s sister and friend (ages 9) had just as much fun playing. It kept them occupied and they played the game 3 or 4 times in a row. I was surprised at how much the kids (kindergardener and 4th grader) enjoyed playing this game together. It was a big hit!

Obstacles, eeBoo’s first cooperative game, has been creating something of a buzz! Since its release, Obstacles has been awarded a platinum Oppenheim, been featured on the Today Show and been highlighted by a growing number of regional parenting guides and trade publications.
